William Paul Hasse, age 70, passed away on October 17, 2026 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on March 28, 1956 to the late Fritz and Mary (Klee) Hasse in Chicago, Illinois.
William's personal and professional interests revolved around the car world. He worked as an automotive machinist for many years, including a 20-year career at Opel Engineering, where he built high-performance race motors. He was an avid fan of stock car and drag racing, and frequented the local drag strips, including Byron, Oswego, and Indianapolis Raceway Park. Shortly after entering retirement, he moved from Illinois to Crawfordsville and found great enjoyment in the more pastoral region. He will be endlessly missed by his son, Torin, and his extended close friends and family.
