William Edward Priest, age 93 of Crawfordsville passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Ben Hur Nursing & Rehabilitation. He was born in Crawfordsville on July 31, 1925 to the late Cecil & Lucinda (Warren) Priest.
William attended Crawfordsville High School and married the love of his life, Lois June Harshbarger on February 18, 1949, who survives. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during World War II. He worked for Indiana Printing as a printer for over 40 years and owned and operated Priest Janitorial for over 20 years. He was the past president of the Ben Hur Car Club and a member of First Baptist Church. He loved people and didn’t know a stranger. He enjoyed wood carving and going to casinos.
He is survived by a son, Denny (Vicki Demoret) Priest of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Kathy (Dave) Hood of Indianapolis and Karen Baldauf of Brownsburg; and a brother, Theron (Shirley) Priest of Crawfordsville.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Melvin, and Morris and three sisters, Doris, Virginia, and Jean.
There will be a graveside service at Oak Hill South Cemetery on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 2:00pm with Pastor Isaac Zull officiating and military rites by the United States Marines and Legion Post 72 Honor Guard.
