Carolyn June (Sackmire) Millikan, age 83 of Holgate, Ohio and formerly of Kingman ,Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Vancrest Health Care in Holgate, Ohio. She was born in Crawfordsville on December 5, 1936 to the late Harold & Roma (Allen) Sackmire.
Carolyn graduated from Kingman High School in 1954. She was a loving mother and homemaker. She spent many years assisting others within the community, in their homes as they aged. She loved visiting with those she cared for as well as preparing meals for and with them. Prior to her caretaking roll she worked different jobs such as a telephone operator, librarian, and served as treasurer for the Kingman United Methodist Church for several years. Carolyn enjoyed sitting on her porch and visiting with friends and neighbors. She loved going on trips with her sisters and friends, exploring new communities and restaurants, and she really loved playing the piano. She also enjoyed a fun and friendly game of cards as well as her monthly “sister’s night” with her three sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Joni Crowder of Round Rock, TX; her son, Scott (Suzanne) Millikan of Napoleon, OH; daughter Mia Millikan of Terre Haute, IN; a sister, Phyllis (Duane) Woodrow of Kingman; four grandchildren, Lindsey, Sarah, Hannah, and Levi; a great grandchild, Ezekiel and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Betty Jean (Kenny) Majors and Alberta (James) Ellis.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman on Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 12:00 till the time of the funeral service at 2:00 with Pastor Doug Newnum officiating. The service will be live streamed and recorded which can be viewed on Carolyn's obituary page at www.sandersfuneralcare.com. Burial will follow at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery.
