Dorothy Mae (Odom) Simpson, age 86, of Crawfordsville, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020 at Ben Hur Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on April 30, 1933 to the late Leon and Eliza Blanche (Bauer) Odom.
In 1951, Dorothy graduated from Benton High school in Benton, Illinois. She married the love of her life Larry DeWayne Simpson on March 30, 1952, who preceded her in death on December 4, 2004. Dorothy was as member of Crawfordsville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She enjoyed embroidery, word searches, studying the bible, and listening to country music.
Dorothy is survived by three sons, William (Marcie), Joseph (Loretta), and James Simpson; two daughters, Sarah Gullion and Patricia (Homer) Myers; daughter-in-law, Jeanie Simpson; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joan Odom; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry; son, Kenneth Simpson; two brothers, Robert Odom and William “Tommy” Odom; and a sister, Wanda Erwin.
