Gary Duncan Nelson

Gary Duncan Nelson, age 69 of Crawfordsville, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 1:34pm at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Crawfordsville on May 19, 1952 to the late Jerry W Nelson & Gertrude (Duncan) Quinley.

Gary graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1971. He worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation for over 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, loved helping people, and loved animals. He was an electronics wiz and loved working on things.

He will be missed by his niece Katie (James) Gentry, his two great nieces, a brother-in-law, David Goforth, and his life-long friends, Douglas Eubank and Cathy Stuart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister, Sandy Nelson-Goforth, and his grandparents, Jerry V and Mabel Nelson and Hobart & Ola Mae (Dee Dee) Duncan.

Cremation was chosen with a graveside service on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 2:00pm at Oak Hill Cemetery North. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Montgomery County Animal Welfare League, 1104 Big 4 Arch Road, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
