James Richard Graham

James Richard “Rich” Graham died at home September 2, 2020 after an extended illness. He was born in Boone County, Indiana on July 29, 1939, the 11th of 14 children, born to D. Buford & Mary (Hedge) Graham.

He graduated from Wallace High School in 1957, then served four years in the United States Navy. The last two years in the Navy were spent at Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station at Oahu, Hawaii, serving on a Crash Rescue Boat.

Rich married Sharon Moffett on March 19, 1960. She joined him in Hawaii, which was later a favorite vacation destination. He enjoyed fishing in Canada with a special group of friends, and fishing locally with family members. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends in Indiana, and friends in Florida, who were considered family; rides in his 1956 T-bird and road trip vacations, visiting every state in the U.S.

Rich was a farmer for many years and a Mr. Fix-It who could repair almost anything.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas (Margaret), Ernest (Sharon), Christian (Ruth), and an infant brother, Charles; sisters, Louise (Lloyd) Duncan, Katy (Harold) Newlin, Mary (Phillip) Zachary, and Elsie (Robert) Hatzell.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharon; a daughter, Valorie (John) Bowman; a son, James S Graham; grandchildren, Nicole (Ryan) Norman, Megan Burleson, Thomas (Savannah) Bowman; five great grandchildren; four brothers, Lester, Harvey (Peggy), Robert (Doralee), and Howard; and a sister, Berta Mae McAhren.
