James Alden Whitaker

James A. Whitaker, 69, passed away on December 26, 2022, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, Indiana. He was surrounded by his three loving daughters.
Jim was born on December 29th, 1952, in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Robert Keith Hunt and Marcella Zachary Hunt were his parents.

Jim graduated high school as a member of Crawfordsville High School's greatest class, the class of 1971. Through high school, Jim worked for Saga Foods at Wabash College. Many a weekend would be spent cruising around "The Dog and Diner." After high school Jim began working at Schiff-Gallenkamp Shoes. He became manager and soon became the youngest regional manager in the state of Indiana. He finished his career at Vigo Dodge of Terre Haute, Indiana. He spent most of his adult life raising his three daughters by himself. He was a great dad who doubled as a mom to his daughters. He raised them with unconditional love. Jim dedicated his life to them and to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whose strength he drew on when times were most difficult. He was also a very true and loyal friend, and will be sadly missed by all. He attended Harvest Fellowship Church.

Jim loved to watch college basketball especially his Indiana Hoosiers. He was also a avid " Colts "fan and has always loved the Indianapolis 500.

Survivors include daughters, Jessica (Joshua) Losey, Shannon (Erik) Whitaker, Erin (Rick) Gatten,
sister Pam Arthur, grandchildren, Olivia, Paxton, Oliver, Graceson and Elisha. Best friends Rod and LeAnn Curran.
In addition to his parents Jim was proceeded in death by his brother Larry Hunt and his loyal dog and companion of many years, Annie.
Cremation was chosen, with Sanders Shoemaker Funeral Care assisting with arrangements. There will be a Celebration of Life May 25th, 2023 at 2PM at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum.
