Phyllis Routh (Massing) Parker

Phyllis Routh (Massing) Parker, age 88 of Crawfordsville, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Whitlock Place in Crawfordsville. She was born in Boone County, Indiana on October 3, 1931 to the late Donald & R. Janice (Stewart) Massing.

Phyllis graduated from Dover High School in 1949. On October 30, 1949, she married Donald L. Parker, who preceded her in death on September 9, 2015. Throughout the years, she worked at J.C. Penney's, Dr. Varay's office, Holiday Inn, and retired from Alcoa in Crawfordsville. Phyllis loved her Lord and Savior and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, and talking to people. She could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere.

She is survived by three daughters, Theda Parker of Tacoma, Washington, Donica (Ray) Miller of Covington, Indiana, and Teresa (Christian) Saenger of Kent, Washington; three grandchildren, Lesley (Wil) Salmonson, Emma (Kevin) McCartle, and Kathleen (Andy) Jahn; six great-grandchildren, Brandon Salmonson, Matthew McCartle, Caleb McCartle, and Amber, Brooke, and Courtney Jahn.; two brothers, John (Monika) Massing and Art Massing; and three sisters, Kathy Smith, Fran Massing, and Jacqueline Parker; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; a son, Donald A. Parker; and a sister, Ann Peek.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions there will be a Private Family Service Only on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care with Pastor Steve Whicker officiating. The service will be live-streamed and recorded, which can be viewed on Phyllis's obituary page at www.sandersfuneralcare.com.
