Obituary

Roger S. Raynes, age 66 of Lafayette, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022, after a couple of years of chronic illness and a brief stay in the hospital. Roger was born at Walter Reed Army Hospital on June 6, 1956. He is a 1975 graduate of North Montgomery High School and worked for 35 years at Tipmont REMC in Linden. He was an avid science fiction buff and also enjoyed watching the History Channel and old TV shows. He never married nor had children, so his nieces and nephews became his children. He loved to get them toys that either had many parts or made lots of noise to drive his brothers and sisters crazy.

He is survived by two brothers, Randy (Vickie) Raynes of Mansfield, Ohio and Mike (Cheril) Howard of Danville, IL; a sister, Paulette (Terry) Chase of Lafayette, along with a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Sue Howard and two sisters, Renita Jo Raynes and Carol Joyce Howard.
